algae: fischerella in "peaty" water.

qilora i have had no problem with the fischerella growing in a medium of soil-water, but i am interested to see how it is affected by being in a peaty water... i took an old (huge!) leaf, that i had in my nursery room and went ahead and crumbled it into a mason-jar that is full of soil-water...
it will be interested to see also how it sends runners on the leaves, and if it makes a "blanket" of green :)
